Enjoy one of the most exciting learning opportunities in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Become a member and help us maintain an important part of Cincinnati's and the nation's scientific and architectural heritage.

Situated atop the rolling hillsides of Mt.Lookout, the Observatory is home to the world's oldest telescope still in use nightly by the general public. Two handsome National Historic Landmark buildings; one designed in 1873 by Samuel Hannaford, complement the institutions park-like setting.

The Cincinnati Observatory is a proud participant of the International Year of Astronomy - a worldwide focus on space science and education. In 2009 we want everyone in the country to look through a telescope and are offering a huge number of public programs. Check out the IYA 2009 drop-down menu above to see our schedule, learn how you can win a telescope, and read Dean Regas' weekly blog about constellation myths.
